Employee Spotlight On: Rodney Rees

We’ve often been told that our people are what set us apart at Tolar. The recent rollout of our real-time customer feedback tool has confirmed it. Take, for instance, a recent client review we received about this month’s Employee Spotlight subject, Rodney Rees.

Rodney was very pleasant and wonderful to work with. Thank you so much for the prompt service with a smile.

If you haven’t yet had the chance to talk to Rodney, we hope you’ll soon have the pleasure. He’s a fun guy, and one of the most knowledgeable people you could hope to meet when it comes to technology. Learn more about him in this month’s Employee Spotlight.

Name: Rodney Rees

Title: Tier 3 Support

What do you do at Tolar Systems?  Some of what I do includes Line of Business application support, unique/complex issue escalations, internal support along with several process and development projects to better support our clients.

When should clients contact you?: Typically, I am the one that contacts our users when an issue has been escalated to me. During the escalation the client is welcome to contact me directly.

What major life milestone have you reached lately? Through hard work, determination, compassion, love and understanding my wife and I will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary this summer. This fall we will also celebrate having an empty nest for the first time ever.

What interests you about the technology industry? With over 35 years in technology it never ceases to amaze me what the next big thing is. At one time it took large multi-floor buildings to house less technological capacity than what is in the average smart watch today. Processes that once took weeks to accomplish are now achieved in mere seconds or less.

What do you like most about your job? I have a passion for technology and helping people, so what is not to love about my position? I have forged many deep and personal relationships with the users I have interacted with through the years. Over the course of my professional career, many users and I have watched our families and ourselves grow. Doing what I do means that I get to help many people whom I consider family.

What’s your favorite movie? I can’t single out one movie so I have two that are a very close tie. The Passion of the Christ and It’s a Wonderful Life.
